Experience the elegance of Japanese artistry at the Ikebana and Bonsai Exhibition 2025, a special joint showcase taking place at the Floreum, Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, on 20–21 September 2025. Presented by the Ikebana Johannesburg Chapter and Shibui Bonsai Kai, this exhibition highlights two of Japan’s most refined art forms: ikebana flower arranging and bonsai tree cultivation.
Visitors will be able to admire exquisite ikebana arrangements, where every stem, leaf, and bloom is carefully placed in harmony, alongside stunning bonsai displays representing years of dedication and artistry. Together, these two traditions create a serene and inspiring cultural experience unlike any other in South Africa.
This unique exhibition is designed to celebrate Japanese aesthetics, promote appreciation for living art, and provide the public with insight into the skill, patience, and philosophy behind ikebana and bonsai.
